About Course

Spanish 2 builds on foundational language skills with expanded vocabulary and more advanced grammar, including the preterit and imperfect tenses, reflexive verbs, and commands. Students will explore real-life topics such as travel, daily routines, technology, and visiting the doctor, while each unit highlights a different Spanish-speaking country to deepen cultural understanding.

Course Content

Unit 1: Viajamos (Coming August 2026)
In Unit 1, students explore travel-related vocabulary while reviewing key grammatical structures from Spanish 1. Each lesson is reinforced through practical use, and students will also explore Chile as the country of focus.

Unit 2: En el consultorio (Coming September 2026)
In Unit 2, students explore medical-related vocabulary while reviewing key advanced grammatical structures from Spanish 1. Each lesson is reinforced through practical use, and students will also explore Guatemala as the country of focus.

Unit 3: Mi rutina diaria (Coming October 2026)
In Unit 3, students explore daily routine-related vocabulary while learning reflexive verbs and saber vs conocer. Each lesson is reinforced through practical use, and students will also explore Ecuador as the country of focus.

Unit 4: Los quehaceres (Coming November 2026)
In Unit 4, students explore home and chore-related vocabulary while learning informal commands and the present progressive tense. Each lesson is reinforced through practical use, and students will also explore Bolivia as the country of focus.

Unit 5: El bienestar y la comida (Coming December 2026)
In Unit 5, students explore health-related vocabulary while learning indirect object pronouns and likes like gustar. Each lesson is reinforced through practical use, and students will also explore the Dominican Republic as the country of focus.

Unit 6: El tecnologia (Coming January 2027)
In Unit 6, students explore technology-related vocabulary while learning the preterit tense and irregular forms of preterit verbs. Each lesson is reinforced through practical use, and students will also explore Nicaragua as the country of focus.

Unit 7: El coche en la ciudad (Coming February 2027)
In Unit 3, students explore city and car-related vocabulary while learning adverbs and verbs that change meaning in different tenses. Each lesson is reinforced through practical use, and students will also explore Venezuela as the country of focus.

Unit 8: En la fiesta (Coming March 2027)
In Unit 8, students explore celebration-related vocabulary while learning comparitives and doulbe pronouns. Each lesson is reinforced through practical use, and students will also explore Paraguay as the country of focus.

Unit 9: Cuando yo era nino/a… (Coming April 2027)
In Unit 9, students explore nature-related vocabulary while learning the imperfect tense and the difference between the imperfect and the preterite. Each lesson is reinforced through practical use, and students will also explore Honduras as the country of focus.

Unit 10: Repaso (Coming May 2027)
In Unit 10, students review key topics from the course to prepare for a final exam and project.
